Catador replicates the industry standard SCAA coffee cupping scoresheet with an easy-to-use system of sliders to rate sensory criteria and tick boxes to mark off-cups in the categories of Uniformity, Clean Cup and Sweetness.
Touching the Notes line launches a virtual keyboard so that you can record your comments and total scores are tallied immediately and accurately on the right hand side in the Total Score box. So simple, and yet it works perfectly.
Catador goes further to include administrative features that make it even more useful in the field.
From the Home screen, you can add and delete cupping flights, identifying the number of samples in each group, which are given generic alphabetic labels or numbers that can be given unique names. (Both Arabica and Robusta are available)
After the day’s cupping is done (or when asked to turn in your Q Grader cupping evaluation), users can also permanently lock each flight so that it cannot be changed later. The system gives you a popup warning that the operation cannot be undone.
No cupping scoresheet application can be fully functional in the real world unless you have some way to export the data. Catador presently includes an email function that sends scores as a text document to any email address, as well as a .CSV file which may be imported into other applications or a worksheet.
There is also an Airprint option, where you may print the output to any Airprint enabled printer wirelessly.
On the latest version, you may also share your sessions using the Airdrop feature on all supported iOS devices.

I worked with the sheets before, but since I discovered this app, cupping is more easy and systematic. -1 ⭐because the iPhone version is not userfriendly You definitely need an IPad if you want to use this app properly

Great concept, but program bugs make it unusable. When the user enters a decimal value on any attribute the programs rounds the decimal to an whole number. Also, at time the math does not add correctly. Also, cupping notes are not sent via the email.
It works fine on my iPad, but I can get it to start a session on my iPhone. I hope they fix it soon. When you do, 2 more stars for you. I will also being looking forward to future updates that bring added functionality. The form looks and works great. Though this app really needs more features to be a real App Store winner. I think they can get it there.
Captures all the relevant info, makes it easy to keep record. Anticipating upcoming release for spreadsheet import. Very handy and paperless! Thanks. Update. Used this on a recent Central American trip and found it invaluable for capturing and quickly sharing my cupping notes with labs and fellow cuppers. I have a couple of requests based on this frequent use: Make the default setting for Clean Cup, Sweetness and Uniformity "10" instead of having to change it for each sample. When you launch a new evaluation, could the samples be default "unlocked" instead of "locked" I discovered on this trip you could change the letters designating the sample to anything you choose to type, could the default be numbers (1, 2, 3...) instead of letters? This last one is just a personal request, i dont use .25 points, is there a way to tune the sliders so that they move in .5 increments? I have really enjoyed having this for traveling cupping, thanks for the great app!
